Interesting Times!
I haven't updated for a while but I've certainly had my reasons!
There's an old Chinese curse (that was told to me by an old Chinese!): May you live in interesting times.
Doesn't seem like much of a curse, does it? Believe me, it's a bad one!
Project China got off to a good start and we were joined by the remainder of the crew from Project India. Things went very well for a couple of weeks, though I didn't manage to film Jo Jo's dragons. Not that it mattered, Jo Jo arrived without warning and did the dragon filming (we saw quite a few) without my help. lol.
Everything went even better with a full team (and Jo Jo!), so I was able to start making arrangements for Project USA. I got the paperwork sorted without difficulty (surprise!) then things suddenly got interesting...
A minor fault had cropped up with Project India. Nothing serious, just something that needed finishing. I went to New Delhi (and what a convoluted route that is!) to sort it out and discovered a few more things that needed doing. There was nothing for it but to bring back some of the team from China. That was easier said than done! But we managed it. lol. While we were wrapping up (again), I got word that my dad was ill so I headed off to jolly old England to see him.
During this time, my brother got very ill suddenly and was rushed into hospital late one evening. I was staying with friends in a little village outside town, so I had to drive like a bat out of hell down country roads in the dark to get to the hospital. Luckily, little brother pulled through. I told him not to scare me like that again and he agreed. lol.
Dad's condition is now slightly more stable than it was and, at his insistence, I'm returning to the projects.
Project USA starts next week and I'm in charge of it! I'm waiting at the airport for my flight to the US as I type. America is a great place and I've made many good friends there. I'm seriously considering settling down there after Project USA is over. Why not? It might be interesting! lol.
One thing I did get done while at the old homestead was to go through the family photos. I've scanned in hundreds, so you can expect them to appear here when I get the chance. There are also all the pics that are on an old hard disk I left there a couple of years ago. If I've ever taken your photo, it's probably on that. It has to be said, some of you are downright ugly! lol.
